This a beautifully detailed 2" long safety pin form stock/bar pin with a reverse carved painted crystal of a very dark bay to black horse profile. The cabochon is over 1/2" in diameter with a beautiful crystal dome. The detail and accuracy of the image is truly impressive. From the horse's blaze, the red brow band, and rich brown bridle, it is amazing how much detail is found in this piece of art. The back of the medallion is covered in 14 kt gold and is marked as such.  This pin is a lovely weight, including the crystal it is 5.88 grams. The straight pin is much thicker than any we have ever seen, very sturdy, tight, and unbent. Wear it as an accessory, or appointment in the hunt field. It has the wow factor showing the discriminating taste of the individual who wears it.
